How Your Agenda Follows the Presenter in Ninety
When you join a live meeting in Ninety and you aren't the Presenter, your agenda view automatically follows theirs. Each time the Presenter moves to a new section, your view updates to keep up, so you don't have to click through the agenda. This happens to every participant who isn't presenting, regardless of their role — Owner, Admin, Manager, Coach, Observer, and Team Member all exhibit the same behavior. There's nothing to turn on, and it works in the Ninety web app.
If you want to look at something else during the meeting, you can. Your view stops following while you're busy, and a single click puts you back wherever the Presenter is.
How your view follows the Presenter
Your agenda syncs to the Presenter's the moment you join a live meeting — including when you join partway through, which drops you straight onto the section the group is discussing rather than at the top of the agenda.
From then on, every time the Presenter advances to a new section, your view advances too.
This applies to any live meeting you join, including Weekly Team Meetings, Quarterly and Annual Planning Meetings, and meetings that run on a custom agenda.
Nothing changes for the person presenting. They move through the agenda exactly as before, and they control the pace for everyone.
How to see who's presenting and where they are
The Presenter's avatar appears in the meeting sidebar, with a microphone badge, next to the section they're currently on. Anyone can glance at the sidebar and see both who is driving the meeting and where the group is, without having to ask.
This avatar sits in the sidebar next to the active section. It replaces the Presenter avatar that previously appeared at the top right of the meeting screen.
When your view stops following
Your view pauses following the Presenter whenever you're in the middle of something, so Ninety doesn't pull you away from your own work. Three things pause it:
You click into a different section than the one the Presenter is on.
You open a detail panel on your current section — for example, opening an Issue to re-read it.
You start editing something on the page you're on while the Presenter moves ahead.
In each case, your view stays put. The meeting carries on without you being yanked forward mid-sentence, and the Presenter isn't affected by anything you do.
How to get back in sync
When your view has stopped following, a resync prompt appears with the Presenter's icon. Click it, and your view jumps back to the section the Presenter is currently on.
Note: The resync control is labeled sync with facilitator. Facilitator and Presenter mean the same person here: whoever currently holds the Presenter role in the meeting.
What this doesn't change
It doesn't change anything for the Presenter. Their controls and views work exactly as before.
It can't be turned off. There's no per-user or company setting to disable it. Every participant who isn't presenting has their view follow the Presenter.
It doesn't restrict what you can look at. You can move to any section you want at any time — your view simply stops following until you resync.
Troubleshooting
Your agenda jumped to a different section on its own.
This is expected. Your view follows the Presenter, so it moves when they move to a new section.
To look at something else, click into the section you want. Your view stops following while you're there.
Click the resync prompt when you're ready to rejoin the group.
Your view isn't following the Presenter.
Check whether you broke sync — clicking into another section, opening a detail panel, or editing something on the page all pause it.
Look for the resync prompt and click it to rejoin the Presenter's section.
Confirm you aren't the Presenter yourself. The person presenting controls the agenda and doesn't follow anyone.
Confirm you're in the Ninety web app.
