How to Use Maz on Ninety's Mobile App
Ask Maz about your Rocks, Issues, To-Dos, and Scorecard, or have it create To-Dos, update Issues, and enter Scorecard scores for you, right from your phone.
Maz is available in Ninety's mobile app for companies enrolled in Ninety's Beta Program. Maz on mobile is the same AI companion you use in the Ninety web app. Ask it about your data, ask how something works in Ninety, or have it create and update items such as Rocks (your 90-day priorities), To-Dos, Issues, and Scorecard scores. Open Maz from the sparkle icon on the mobile app's Home page, so you can check what's off track or log a quick To-Do between meetings.
Important: Maz on mobile is in beta. To see it, your company must be enrolled in Ninety's Beta Program and on a paid plan (Essentials, Accelerate, Thrive, or Legacy). Additionally, ensure your device has updated to the latest version of Ninety's mobile app from the App Store or Google Play for access.
Who can use Maz on mobile
Maz on mobile works within your own permissions, exactly as it does in the web app. It sees the teams and items your role gives you access to, and it can change only what you could change yourself in Ninety:
Owners and Admins can ask about every non-private team in the company, create and edit items, manage KPIs, and enter scores.
Coaches can do the same for the companies they work with, scoped to their access.
Managers can ask about, create, and edit items on the teams they belong to, including managing KPIs and entering scores.
Team Members (Managees) can ask about the teams they belong to, create and edit the items their role allows, and enter scores. They cannot create, edit, move, or remove KPIs.
Observers can ask Maz questions only. They cannot create or change anything through Maz.
For the full breakdown, see the "Who can use Maz" section of Working with Maz, Ninety's AI Companion.
Opening Maz on mobile
Maz opens from the Home page of Ninety's mobile app. To open it:
On the Home page, tap the sparkle icon in the top right corner, next to your profile picture.
Type your question or request in the Message Maz… field at the bottom of the screen.
To return to the Home page, tap Back to My 90 in the top left corner.
Asking Maz about your data on mobile
Maz on mobile answers questions from your live Ninety data, the same way it does in the web app. Ask in plain language about your Rocks and milestones, To-Dos, Issues, Scorecard, Vision, Org Chart, or team structure. Maz is also a reference for how Ninety works and for the methodology behind an optimized business operating system, so you can ask how to do something in Ninety or how RDR (Raise, Discuss, Resolve) works in a Weekly Team Meeting.
Questions that work well on the go include:
"What's off track this week?"
"Which of my To-Dos are due before Friday?"
"Which Issues were added to the Leadership Team's list since yesterday?"
Having Maz take action on mobile
Maz on mobile can create and edit items for you, just as it can in the web app. Ask in plain language, and Maz makes the change in Ninety after confirming any details it needs, such as an owner or a due date. From a mobile conversation, Maz can:
Create and edit Rocks and milestones.
Create and edit To-Dos.
Create and edit short-term and long-term Issues.
Create and edit Headlines.
Create and update Org Chart Seats.
Add, edit, move, or remove KPIs on a team's Scorecard.
Enter Scorecard scores or replace scores that are already entered.
For example, after a conversation with a client, ask "Create a To-Do for me to send the Acme proposal by Thursday." To see the details of each action, see the "Having Maz take action" section of Working with Maz, Ninety's AI Companion.
Important: Maz doesn't ask before it replaces a score. When a period already has a score, Maz overwrites it as soon as you ask. Name the KPI, the team, and the exact week or month you mean.
Continuing or starting a new conversation on mobile
Maz on mobile keeps one conversation at a time. When you open Maz with a conversation in progress, Maz asks whether you want to continue it:
Tap Yes, continue to pick up where you left off. Maz keeps the full context, so you don't need to re-explain what you were working on.
Tap New conversation to clear the current conversation and start fresh.
You can also start fresh at any time by tapping the new conversation icon in the top right corner of the Maz screen.
Important: Starting a new conversation on mobile clears the current one. Maz on mobile has no History tab yet, so a cleared mobile conversation can't be reopened. Finish what you need from the current conversation before you start a new one.
Your mobile and web app conversations are kept separately. A conversation you have with Maz on your phone doesn't appear in the History tab of the web app, and your web app conversations don't appear on mobile.
Tasks that need the web app
Maz on mobile is built for quick questions and updates. Use Maz in the Ninety web app to:
Browse, search, reopen, or continue past conversations from the History tab. See Viewing and Continuing Past Maz Chats.
Use the Maz buttons built into Ninety's tools, such as Help me draft a SMART Rock, Optimize Scorecard, and Maz Seat Builder.
Frequently asked questions
Is Maz on mobile the same as Maz in the web app?
Yes. Maz on mobile can answer the same questions and take the same actions as Maz in the web app, with the same permissions. The difference is conversation history: the mobile app keeps one conversation at a time and has no History tab yet.

Yes. Ask Maz in plain language, and it creates or updates Rocks, milestones, To-Dos, Issues, Headlines, Seats, KPIs, and Scorecard scores, within the permissions of your role.
Will my web app conversations with Maz show up on my phone?
No. Mobile and web app conversations are kept separately. To reopen a conversation you had in the web app, open Maz in the web app and select the History tab.
Does starting a new conversation on mobile delete my current one?
